Who may visit?

Citizens and legal residents of the United States do not need a passport or Visa.  However, it is a good idea to carry some identification, (such as a photo ID, Voter Registration Card, and a birth certificate--especially for children).  Current vaccination records must accompany your pet.  Those with criminal offenses (including DWI) should contact immigration.

NEW:  Starting 12/31/06, passports are required when traveling by air; and starting 12/31/07, passports are required traveling by ground, air, or water.

Although passports will not be required until after 2006, passports are actually the best form of identification for crossing the border.  U.S. citizens wishing to obtain a U.S. passport should go to the U.S. State Department web site: www.travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html
